Saying Goodbye

HHHC Sharon DamronWe are sad to announce that our long-time bookkeeper, Sharon Damron, is retiring after more than 13 years of service. Sharon has been instrumental in the clinic’s growth and the committed efforts of providing high-quality, compassionate care to the working, uninsured of our region.

Sharon says she’ll enjoy spending more time with her husband and traveling to see her grandchildren play football.

Amy Moseley will step into Sharon’s roll full-time January 31st but until then, you can reach Sharon at Sharon@healinghandshealthcenter.org!

2015 Volunteer of the Year

Gary is a long-time volunteer and helped oversee the construction/renovation of our new building.

Gary gives of his time tirelessly and selflessly, and this transition to our new home would not have been possible without him.  Thanks, Gary!

Every year we award one person (or group of people) who goes above and beyond to help make our fundraising efforts a success!

We are so excited and thankful that this incredible group of ladies has agreed to help us again in 2016!

Meet Our New Board Members

HHHC 2015 New Board MembersDr. Michael Gilles

Dr. Gilles is originally from Kankakee, IL and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and currently resides in Blountville. Dr. Gilles has a special interest in gastrointestinal oncology, pancreatic biliary disease and endoscopic ultrasound in addition to general gastroenterology. Dr. Gilles is married to Alyson and they have 3 sons. His interests outside of medicine include running and playing golf.

 

Mr. Ben Phillips

Ben is an in-charge associate at Brown, Edwards & Company in Bristol, Virginia. He received his B.A in Finance/Economics from King College and his Master of Accountancy from ETSU. While at King he was awarded the distinguished graduate award by the School of Business and Economics faculty and the Liston Award for Academic Excellence. At ETSU he was awarded the Federation of the Schools of Accountancy- Student Achievement Award given to one graduate student in the MAcc. program each year.  Ben is a licensed CPA in Tennessee and Virginia. He is a graduate of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce’s LEAD Bristol! Program.  He has been an associate with Brown, Edwards & Companyfor three years and has experience in both assurance and tax services. Ben is a life-long resident of Bristol and is also the treasurer of Faith Community Fellowship in Bristol, Tennessee.

 

Mrs. Candy Snodgrass

Candy has recently retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN as District Manager after 29 years.  She is married to Allen and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.  Candy is a native of Chicago and attended Sullins College.  She has served the Bristol community in various volunteer capacities including past president of Art in Public Places, Bristol Ballet, past president of the Rotary Club and past president of the Bristol Public Library Foundation.  She attends Emmanuel Episcopal Church.  Candy has been raising money in Bristol for years.

 

Dr. Brandon Roller

Dr. Roller is a long-time volunteer dentist at Healing Hands and works at Alamont Dental in Bristol.  He is married to Dawn and they have one son, Tate.  Dr. Roller is a graduate of ETSU and Medical College of Georgia’s College of Dentistry.

 

Melissa Steward

Sadly, we say goodbye to long-time and very faithful board member, Melissa Steward!  Melissa served on the Healing Hands’ Board of Directors for 6 years and was instrumental in our clinic raising money at various fundraisers such as Sweets for the Sweet, Diamonds and Ice, and the annual Gala!  Our by-laws state that a board member may serve two consecutive 3 year terms, but then most rotate off. 

If you see Melissa in the community, please thank her for us – she will certainly be missed!

Get Involved: Are you a Veteran of the Armed Forces? Do you want to give back by serving Homeless and/or Needy Veterans looking for medical, dental or vision care? We are also hoping to provide hair cuts, interview skills, clothing for interviews, financial planning and counseling . Wells Fargo chose Healing Hands Health Center as their 2015 Charity of Choice to receive their beautiful, stuffed mascot, Nellie, to be used with our Giving Kids a Smile Pediatric Dental Outreach Program.  Each year Wells Fargo chooses a charity that they believe is making a difference in the lives of people in the community.   Thank you Wells Fargo! – we’re honored!
