Expanding Our Services
We are proud to announce the addition of our new Wellness Program, “Journey to Health”. With the assistance of a very generous grant by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, we will be able to implement this patient-specific approach to wellness into our existing patient services. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding this life-changing new program.
Honoring Our Veterans
On Friday, April 21, 2017, we hosted our 2nd annual FREE Dental Day for Veterans. We provided over 120 dental patient visits and played host to more than 50 volunteers! Dr. Joe Smiddy and Mr. Frank Waldo brought the Appalachian Miles for Smiles mobile dental truck, which was used by dental hygienists Candace Chatman and Emily Pons, as well as our three ETSU dental hygiene students. The dentists represented were our four UT Dental Students from Memphis, Dr. Deborah Bassham, Dr. William Hartel, Dr. Neil Hollyfield, Dr. Jeff McMillin, Dr. Sam Molind, Dr. Tyler Pittman, Dr. Brandon Roller, and Dr. Dale Willis.
All patients were offered free haircuts, compliments of Wampler’s Barber Co., CC & Co., Salon Platinum, and Bristol School of Hair Design. We had vendor representatives from Food City, ARCH, Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Wells Fargo, American Job Center, National College, Volunteers of America, and U.S. Army Recruiting Center.
Patients were also offered cleanings, x-rays, exams, fillings, and extractions. Thanks to all of our sponsors and volunteers! This was a very successful event and a great day was had by all!
