An Update for Our Valued Partners: Our Continued Work During COVID-19
Published: May 18, 2020
An update for YOU, our valued partners
THANK YOU! Your steadfast support has enabled Healing Hands to move forward during this challenging time. Because of your belief in our mission, we have continued to provide care for uninsured, vulnerable neighbors who are often overlooked and forgotten.

Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams, pictured with Dr. Dave Arnold, visited Healing Hands in February 2020.
- Our medical staff is treating emergency patients on site. Non-emergency patient needs are addressed via telemedicine.
- We are continuing to provide much needed medications to patients.
- Dental staff is treating patients who are experiencing extreme dental pain and fitting patients for dentures and partials.
- We have streamlined our online application process and are conducting phone interviews for new patient eligibility in order to process applications in a timely manner.
- We have transitioned to a platform that enables clinic staff to conduct telemedicine and teledental appointments.
- Staff and Volunteers, working remotely, are writing grants; developing new policies and procedures; assembling dental kits and new patient packets; collaborating with other organizations and leaders via video conferencing.

Crystal Simmons, Registered Dental Assistant and Dr. Dylan Christian provide emergency treatment for our patients who have dental abscesses.
We are:
- Continuing to pay our 24 staff members
- Receiving donated Personal Protective Equipment
- Continuing to Fundraise
- Securing in-kind donations to help keep our operating costs as low as possible
- Enforcing strict social distancing and following CDC guidelines

As Carol Martin, RN points out, Healing Hands is open and is providing needed services for our patients. The Coronavirus has changed the way we operate, but we are still OPEN!
Healing Hands continues to leverage your support with 23 years of experience meeting the healthcare needs of our region’s most vulnerable.
We can’t THANK YOU enough for being one of our valued partners. You have helped us stay open and we are deeply grateful!
God Bless,
